Hive Rescues
We safely relocate at-risk bee colonies, giving them a new home in a thriving, sustainable environment—protecting both the bees and our ecosystem. And if the girls are honey hoarders, we’re happy to box up any excess honeycomb for your enjoyment!

Hi there! I’m elated you’ve found More than Honey LA. Beekeeping has brought me so much joy, fulfillment, and a deeper connection to nature & More than Honey is my way of sharing these feelings along with all of the incredible benefits with others.
I was first introduced to beekeeping in 2018 by taking a hands-on 3 month beekeeping course at the Cal Poly SLO School of Agriculture. When we opened a hive, the feeling was uncanny – it felt like I was peeking my head into a completely new world, the bees so small but their existence and hard work so impactful to us and our ecosystems. And the complexities of how they survive, while battling numerous threats to their existence fueled my desire to dedicate my time to learn, understand, and do my part to help them.
The pandemic was my first opportunity to keep my own hives since 2018 and I’ve since then grown to managing hives on 3 properties for individuals who share the passion of supporting the bees and local pollination.
Beyond building awareness around the importance of honeybees, sharing the magic of beekeeping with others, and contributing to a growing population of local honeybees, what excites me most about More than Honey is defying the norms that beehives are just ugly white boxes in no man’s land tucked away for no one to see. We can make some stunning apiaries with modern artistic elements for clients to enjoy the aesthetics of the space and feel the connection to nature just as much as the bees!
